STATE SYSTEMS, INC. is a privately owned total protection company based in Memphis, Tennessee, that seeks to embody its mission of protecting life and property into every client and product every day. Long-known in the Mid-South for its family owned leadership and life safety systems, the company's longest-standing and best-known services such as fire protection equipment, training and cleaning services have been enhanced by new technology services such as network integration, structured cabling systems and wireless support.

 

SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking low voltage lead field & service technicians to be the face of our technology division during system installations, ongoing construction projects and end user service calls.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Oversee system installations to be completed as designed
  • Run dispatched service calls to troubleshoot and diagnose system failures
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required by annual contracts
  • Document all work performed and close out all activities upon completion
  • Maintain a professional appearance and follow established safety standards
  • Professionally communicate to customers about services performed
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to for occasional (as needed) out of town travel

 

WORKING KNOWLEDGE:

  • Copper & fiber (structured cabling) Installations
  • Closed circuit television (CCTV) systems
  • Access control systems
  • Paging installations
  • Sound masking (white noise) installations
  • Audio visual (AV) design and installations
  • Burglar alarm (security)

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • Mechanical and electronic aptitude
  • Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills
  • Strong accuracy and detail oriented with all paperwork
  • Customer relations, interpersonal relationships, team relations and service oriented
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must be self-starter, work with minimal supervision and be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
  • Great oral and written communication skills
  • BICSI certification a plus

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 year technical certification, apprenticeship program, on the job training or military equivalent
  • 5 years' experience in a similar position
  • Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
  • Must pass a full background check and drug screening
  • Must be able to work from elevated heights

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds
  • Position requires sitting, standing, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
  • Position requires bending, stooping, kneeling or squatting on a daily basis. May be up to 30% of the day
  • Position requires driving to and from customer sites daily
